the break being yesterday, today and tomorrow. been insanely busy with trying to find myself a real job somewhere and going camping tomorrow, so nowhere near internet to try and get the blog updated. got some awesome interviews coming soon, and some unreleased material as well. just finished an interview with the disco villains, and in the process of getting that written up for iinsight and here. i'll get the last interviews from the magazine on here before long as well, i just want to get them written up and some extra material for the blog for them.

but anyway, thought i'd let you know the reason for the recent silence. again, inordinate amounts of alcohol and little time are the main causes. and sorry for the incredibly brief notice, but i'm half asleep and getting things sorted for tomorrow and writing up some of the material that i'll have on here before long.

one word, huge house...

yes, mansion. the duo is comprised of violca yryku and hans edquist, better known as dj barletta, who together perform energy-filled dj sets and produce some banging tunes for us all. one of their best known releases is an officially sanctioned remix of the massive track bounce by fellow canadian residents mstrkrft. i loved the original, and this i love as well.

it starts with a nice piano introduction, which isn't often heard in electro house. but hey, it works. and it works well. the sound, mixed with the traditional pounding kick and some tight effects, produces a fantastic track that is easily danceable and listenable. and it's well worth doing the latter.

the same can be said for the following track, which takes the original mind dimension by tiga and blows it up into something darker, heavier and more sinister.

'every time i look into your eyes i see the future' is still present, but only repeated a couple of times throughout the track. there's a lovely, funky kind of breakdown a little over half way through that i really like, which leads into a repetition of the classic line, but unexpectedly distorted. there's also some nice builds in various parts, leading to some deep and growly wobbly-style bass. all in all, a nice little remix.

and i'd highly recommend keeping an eye on these two. i got this in my most recent message from them.

i'd get excited. now. and very excited. sure to be a big thing when it's out, mark the date down in your calendars and prepare yourselves. i know i will be!

'bout bloody time

about bloody time indeed. over a week. sorry. but i'm back. and i'll carry on writing. and you should be pleased! in my absence from posting i've had some amazing material sent to me and i've got a hell of a lot done. i've applied for a few jobs, made a couple hundred pounds, got some more applications for other places, made new friends, talked to old ones, drunk obscene amounts and partied a hell of a lot. and enjoyed every second of it. and now i'm back to share what i enjoy most with you; music.

to start with, read about this finnish electro-pop duo called tv off who sent me some nice material:

"TV OFF is an electro-pop hybrid featuring a colourful, hyperactive singer called Sara and a deadpan beatsman everyone around here refers to as Markku.

At a recent performance the duo were described by one chin-stroker as "like Sophie Ellis-Bextor meets Moby". The band kicked the crap outta that guy and he still eats through a straw. Luckily, it was all put down to "high spirits", and The Off was able to return to the studio to start on the debut record.

After only a fistful of gigs, the guys were attracting attention on a scale that made them both smile like kids in a sweetstore (or Sara in a shoeshop) and soon they were snapped up for lovely things like being nominated for Best Upcoming Act at the Basso Radio awards, performing at the Diesel Global Party event, opening the new Minna Parikka store (a woman who makes shoes that are so valuable that most people can only afford one of a pair), being featured in snowboarding movies, and playing alongside such Coolness-Personified-In Band-Form as CSS, Crystal Castles and Mum at Flow Festival in Finland.

Despite real initial interest from record labels, publishers and other folk that fear for their jobs, the band is going ahead with releasing their material on the internet for now and, well, seeing what happens. It is, of course, all part of a bigger plan for world domination as the guys are already confirmed to appear at The Great Escape Festival in UK in May where, between gigs, they plan to spend a lot of time on the beach, or in the arcades on the pier if it is raining. They will also appear at events in Tokyo, Berlin and throughout Scandinavia this Spring while they wait for the rest of the world to join their party."

liking what you hear? then give the two tracks they sent over a listen. the first is entitled 'car is on fire' and i like it. a lot. there's quite a few layers to the song, all held together with the incredibly tight effects and sara's smooth vocals. check it out.

'i mind now' is the second track, and is just as well produced as the first. it's a more downtempo track and, for whatever reason, kind of reminds me of an amalgamation of massive attack and sneaker pimps, with some 80's synth thrown in there for good mix. it's a nice track, and has a unique sound.

summer

well, summer is officially here. and i swear i am still drunk from last night. but i'm off to a house party in a bit to drink that off and everything. should be fun, if i can stay awake. but anyway, the point of this is that i am now free, as in no exams, no school, nothing any more. and i'll be putting a lot more time into the blog, getting more interviews, more material and everything for you all. but, this will be in about a week or so, when things quiten down a bit, as i'm not in or sober long enough to string together anything of much coherence at the moment.

and to all those i've emailed, messaged on myspace, commented or who have done the same to me, i'm sorry if i haven't replied or am late! whatever i said i would do, i will, just it'll take me a while to get on top of things. if we were talking through myspace, please send me an email to wecandyflip@gmail.com with a reminder than i still need to send you an interview, finish what i was writing for you or whatever, as i have most likely forgotten or myspace has deleted all my messages. again.

no, not some crazy spelling of the top gear international man of mystery, but a relatively new duo from stockholm, sweden. stygg is johan bring and david strindberg, and they produce a dirty electro house sound. one of my favourite tracks at the minute is one they sent me the other week called lunacy, which is an incredibly infectious tune and, whilst the vocals are almost droned, surprisingly memorable and catchy! the track also has a trippy video, which has appeared on mtv in sweden:

the synth sound is nice an fat, with filth dripping from it. and i love it. it's almost a raw and untamed sound, roaring through pretty much the whole of the track. there's a kindy of spooky 'electro glockenschpiel' that appears intermittently in it, which is a nice hook. the next song is just as good, bizarrely entitled center pivot irrigation system:

this one reminds me of simian mobile disco. definitely promising! i think it just has that kind of feel about it. the tempo is lower and the whole vibe is just more downbeat and chilled. this is another one that i am really liking at the moment.

stygg, i think, will definitely be worth keeping your eyes on, as i can see them going places. and pretty damn fast. and sorry if the post isn't really up to scratch today or seems a little short, but i had my last exam earlier on about two hours of sleep. again. needless to say, it didn't go amazingly. and wasn't fun. but, i am now a free man! couldn't really be happier. but my head is nodding as i write this, so if bits don't make sense or i am rambling, it's because i may as well be asleep.

this is, without a doubt, my favourite track at the minute. flash gordon. it is amazing. brilliant. cool. dazzling. excellent. fucking fantastic. and whatever other abc adjectives you can come up with. i just love it. a lot. and i won't waste any more time describing it. just listen to it, download it and fall in love.

it's from a belgian dj trio voltronixx, made up of cé, matty and jan. and the sound is, in a word, loud. it's nothing too new, but it works. and if it works, why change it? there's plenty of distorted synths, a raving bassline, some repeated vocals and crazy buildups and suchlike. all in all, it has the makings of a massive party anthem. if i haven't already told you; i absolutely fucking adore this track. get it downloaded

boost down is another damn good release from voltronixx. it's not quite as 'ravey' or new electro housey as flash gordon, but the bass is beastly and the effects well used, so it's impossible to complain. oh, and it sounds awesome! which is always a plus. i'm definitely keeping my eyes on these three, as i am sure they have big things coming their way in the future. their mixtapes help give support to this as well, with some hard and heavy track listings and enough bass to make your ears bleed. crank up the volume, head over to the myspace page and get dancing.

my second passion

i'm not entirely sure if insomnia counts as a passion, especially since i fucking despise it. but, it's something that's been with me for years and i think i'll be keeping up for a long while to come, unfortunately. that, coupled with the fact that i've had another two exams today and have just done my first submission for iinsight magazine, mean i am absolutely bloody shattered. as such, i'll not be updating the blog with anything of use to you all today, but i will make the promise that i have a hell of a lot more excellent material for you, and that i will get it all posted up on here.

in the meantime, take a look at wecandyfliip 001 justdima; the first in my series of interviews for iinsight. inventive name for it, i know. but hey, i'm tired! and it makes me laugh. which probably isn't a good thing, but it'll be fine. i'm really excited about this new opportunity, and i've got some great stuff lined up for that too. be sure to have a look at the other areas on iinsight, and check back weekly for each of my new interviews! this week i have a brilliant one from justdima, which i'll have on here before long. next week i have something good planned as well. so even more reason to come back and check it out!

anyway, sorry about the lack of anything of substance here today. hopefully my first article on iinsight will do for you, and i'll be making it up with the material that i have coming. some absolutely incredibly upcoming producers, great interviews lined up, a couple of mixtapes and some bastardly banging tracks! all coming soon.

is gerald growing?

according to his myspace; yes, geraldisgrowing. gerald being "just a composer with international tastes. his influences range from french electro, the british invasion of new wave synthpop to classic rock and funk with a punk/ hiphop spirit."

these influences are prevalent in the tracks that he sent over. the first, pressure in the city, has funky overtones and a kind of 70s and 80s disco vibe to it, which i find really enjoyable. there's a repeated guitar riff that wouldn't be out of place in the intro to a song by some cheesy hair-metal band from 'back in the day.' the track, as a whole, for me has a kind of feel-good thing going for it as well, as in i find it pretty uplifting. i can imagine it'd be good to dance to as well. i've not had to chance to test it out on a decent soundsystem yet, but it's played out well through the setup i have in my room and my friend's car system.

rise above insanity, the other track gerald sent me, has a more typical electro sound. in this one, the french electro influences can be heard a lot more easily, and he manages to bring in some nice 8-bit sounds, giving this track a kind of retro feel as well. this one mellows out as it progresses, which the other didn't, and i really like this aspect of it. the energy continues, but slowly dies down and chills everything out, making it, i think, a great track to end a night with. check it out.

and now i have something i'm really happy about, and that is that i am now a resident writer for the online magazine iinsight. it's my job there to keep the music section updated with articles, interviews and the like. one new one every week. i am really psyched to get going with this, as it looks like a brilliant project, and will hopefully help me promote the music i love even more. for my first few submissions, i'll probably be adding a couple of interviews already up on here, but i have a few new ones lined up. be sure to bookmark iinsight magazine as well! and take a look at the other sections; there's some awesome stuff on there.

on top of this, i'm also selling off a load of things i collected over the years and that i now never really used, in order to fund all the stuff i've got planned for the summer. and i'm bloody happy with that as well, as i've currently raised, i think, just over £400, maybe £600 by the end of this month. and my god, i'm hoping so, as i have a lot i'd love to get done!

as was promised back when i first got the blog up and running, i do have an interview with vektorkat for you all! it's taken a while, but it's here, and it's quality.

us: Hi there VEKTORKAT! Would you care to introduce yourselves?
Lionel: Hello !
Antoine: We are three guys from france, who love electronic music and cats!
Reynald: Miaou.

us: VEKTORKAT is a trio - how did the three of you meet and come to decide to DJ and produce your style of music together?
Antoine: We were in the same graphic design school.
Reynald: … and we are friends and we are fond of electronic music. So we decided to playing music together, under the name of Vektorkat, just to have fun.

us: Your productions include remakes of riffs from artists such as Nirvana. Musically, who are your largest influences?
Antoine: To me, the main influences comes from rock'n roll.
Lionel: French touch, and dance music .. but our itunes contains many other great things like pop, rock, funk, disco…
Reynald: When I was a teenager, I used to listen to rap music. But the first CD I bought was the single from 2Unlimited.

us: We can see you've had gigs across France and you've come to the UK and played in London. What, so far, has been your favourite gig?
Antoine: Every gig is a great pleasure for us, but to sum up I would say Lyon last summer, on a boat with a lot of crazy dancing people!
Reynald: I remain of a guy who apologized to us: he enjoyed our music a lot but unfortunately, he couldn't dance… He was too fat.(true!)

us: If you could play any single venue or gig in the world, which would it be?
Antoine: I dream of "I love techno" in Belgium, or Coachella!
Reynald: To me, I'd like to take the plane for free to play abroad. To make travels and playing music at the same time! C.O.A.C.H.E.L.L.A!

us: You've been supported by various DJs worldwide, including Fake Blood. If you could work or gig with any other producer or DJ, who would it be and why?
Antoine: Maybe with Blatta & Inesha because I love their music!
Lionel: Thomas Bangalter, because I think he's far away from this "sidechainfidgetsaturatedclubmusic", like us. He's a perfectionist producer and a simple guy too!

us: Speaking of producing, are you currently working on any new material?
Antoine: We're always working on something... : )
Reynald: Yeah, generally we never stop. Music, graphic design or facebook... The computer is always on!

us: You have a great deal of original productions. What about remixes - anything in the pipelines?
Antoine: We don't remix a lot, but we're working on a non official remix of Yuksek's track "Tonight", and on some other secret stuff to be released soon!

us: What is your current setup for producing?
Antoine: Definitely Ableton Live!
Lionel: With cheap loudspeakers!
Reynald: Beers & saussage.

us: How do you manage working with the three of you? I can imagine it'd get difficult at times to all agree on certain synths and beats and the like.
Antoine: We work alone, but we're always sharing our track while working on it to improve them and make them follow the rest of our tracks.
Lionel: Even though we seldom agree, it's still a pleasure!

us: Have you ever had a serious falling out over music, or any crazy stories from working/partying together?
Antoine: There are plenty of stories concerning our bad luck on stage, or about parties...

this one is another fun, fidgety and very danceable track. it's a complete mix up of mr oizo's track, positif. i actually prefer this version to the original, which was damn good as it stood! this, though, i think just transforms it into something i bloody love.

the last track i'll be posting up is another original mix, which has, as the title suggests, glitchy vocals, backed up by some rough and blaring synths, a deep kick and some lovely sidechaining. i love this one too.

and, to conclude today's post, i have another apology. i forgot to update the blog yesterday. again. i'd love to be able to say i have some kind of fantastic excuse, but i don't. i was out during the day after my biology paper, playing football and cricket in the amazing weather we finally have, then ended up driving round with a couple of friends for ages trying to find some place to eat. after going to about four different pubs and either bricking it after seeing the menu prices, the kitchen or the fact that we turned up after they stopped serving food, we gave up and split a kfc bucket between us. one of the greasiest things i've ever eaten, but i was so hungry by the time we got it, it was absolutely beautiful. then i stopped at someone else's, got pissed and fell asleep watching memento. which is the most confusing film i've ever sat down and started to watch.

but i finish my exams on wednesday. i've got a maths and general studies paper on monday, philosophy and ethics on tuesday and then biology on wednesday. after that, i'm free! plus i'll be more than making up with some incredible new material for you on here.

freedom and fidget!

it's taken me quite a lot longer than i wanted to get this post up, but today it is finally here. and what a post. i got some banging new material in my inbox a couple of weeks ago from a lad called giovanni coppola from, if the name and insanely fidgety sound didn't give it away, italy. the man produces music that is fidgety to the extreme. the basslines are filthy, the kicks hard and the lyrics cut up almost beyond recognition.

to try to best describe elektropusher's sound, i'm going to have to ask you to watch a scanner darkly. and then rewatch the scene where the guy is smacked up and is imagining he has the bugs crawling all over him. and cannot not stop scratching. these tracks sound like the soundtrack to that feeling. i don't think it is possible to listen to them and sit still. my fingers are bouncing everywhere while i'm typing this, and my mind is all over the place. crazy music.

the first track i have for you is an upcoming remix of satellite by the snipplers. the vocals are fucked. some have been synched up to play as an arpeggio and it confuses the hell out of me. i can't quite make sense of this track, but i'm pretty sure that i really do like it.

this is an original mix by giovanni, and the chronically grimey bassline persists throughout, but this time broken up with some nasty 8-bit sounds and ever more confusing vocals, that at times almost sound like muffled and distorted whimpers. another bizarre, fidgeting and catchy track.

i'd keep an ear out for more from elektropusher. he has some more releases lined up, listed on his myspace, and i can say that, having heard a couple, you will be impressed. and inclined to move. a lot. which puts me in a good mood, since i'm one paper closer to finally finishing my a levels and the summer of a lifetime. five more papers to go across the next four working days, and then i can finally call myself a free man. which means i'll be dancing. a lot. and hopefully to music like this!

today i present to you an awesome interview with inesha from the italian beasts that are blatta & inesha. having performed with the likes of the bloody beetroots and riva starr, they have been mashing it up at venues across europe and soon north america. read what inesha has to say, give a couple of their tracks a listen and fall in love with their pounding, bass-heavy sound. like i have.

us: Blatta & Inesha. It's awesome to have you here! If anyone reading hasn't yet heard of you, could you please introduce yourselves for them?
b&i: basically we are just 2 good ol' boys that are the type of guys that moms want their daughters to bring home!

us: How would you describe your music?
b&i: its suspicious and sleazy, its a bit like plastic surgery... cut up, chopped up and somehow the end result is being more socially accepted by everyone

us: Coming from Italy, along with other acts such as The Bloody Beetroots, Crookers and Congorock, we can imagine you've been pretty well exposed to a similar kind of banging dirty electro house as you now produce for most of your lives. What was the scene like when you were growing up?
b&i: 2 words: Glow Sticks!!

us: How did you both meet and end up DJing and producing together?
b&i: I answered an internet ad.

us: Do you think you have helped to shape to scene into what it is today, with your unique take on what some feel is the classic Italian disco/electro house sound?
b&i: Its actually one time thats its great to be Italian!

us: We've seen numerous releases from you all over the place, your Confuzed 90’s: Switched On Ramirez being one of the most prominent in our minds. How did you get hooked into doing that?
b&i: We grew up listening to those tracks, it was the sound of the italian Disoteque's when we were teenagers! It turned out to be a small world when our then label, Hell Yeah, had rights to the tracks.. so it was a given that we had to do it!

us: We hear you have an upcoming release. Any news on this?
b&i: Really excited about this one, its a remix on KItsune for Maybb due out in late summer, i wish we could tell you who Maybb really is!

us: What are the two of you working on at the moment?
b&i: A couple of originals to be released in fall and an upcoming mixed retail CD and most importantly im learning to fish and Blatta is saving up for a new scooter. But seriously i think he really needs a car

us: And how's the touring going? Where abouts have you been already, and where are you now and where are you headed next?
b&i: Well, just got back from my moms house, and then we are headed to start our North American tour end of July... hitting both the west and east coast and imbetween in one month!

us: Travelling around so much must be incredible, sampling so much from different countries and cultures. Especially the food! What are your favourite foods?
b&i: " I need some food, im in the mood, i need a fat girl, fat girl, fat girl tonight!" do you know this track?

us: And as we almost have to ask; your favourite drink?

us: Having played in so many different venues, and countries, you must have some crazy or embarassing stories to go with it?

the next track, a remix of ghost girl by telepopmusik, starts with a dreamy or spacey kind of synth, moving quite rapidly in to the more traditional electro house-esque blatta & inesha style. another brilliant track that the two can tuck neatly under their belts and be proud of.

when i opened my inbox the other morning and saw an email that was headed with '!!! FREE RELEASE !!!' i can't say that i was expecting much. but, oh, was i surprised. what i found within was a promotional message from serkan denizer, manager of swedish label bonerizing records, on behalf of his newly signed act, life express.

life express is made up of karl prim and stefan svensson from stockholm, sweden. the duo both come from quite musically diverse backgrounds, and both with somewhat differing stylistic starting points. stefan was a trance and dance dj, whereas karl was more into his hip hop, as well as playing in a rock band and producing the soundtracks for two independent swedish films. from the first track i listened to, kazzazza, i was impressed. check out the 'bigroom mix' of the track from life express.

the original mix of the first track and another track entitled 'come into my life' (which, quite randomly, i just heard sung while i was typing this at the end of ground zero by we are terrorists. what a bizarre coincidence) are available from a blog post life express made on their myspace. once you've listened to the two tracks above, as well as the other two being offered for free download, you'll see the massive potential that serkan has signed to his label. these tracks are, in my eyes, already brilliant. but if karl and stefan keep on like they are, i have no doubts that their names will become a lot more widely recognised by the end of 2010.

first off i'd like to say sorry if this is late and thanks if you're reading it today, on the 8th, as i'm trying to get this to post using the scheduling function again since i'm out later tonight as this massive house party a girl i know is having as her parents are on holiday. i said i'd go round during the day and help her put stuff away and get everything sorted and ready for it, and as a result i'm not around to post this when i should. so, if you are reading this a day late, on the 9th, i apologise. if not, i'm amazed that i actually managed to figure it out!

anyway, we featured a mixtape and a few tracks from illstm, based in norway, a while back. i promised an interview with the man back then, and now i can actually fulfill that promise. enjoy reading this. i know i certainly did!

us: Hey IllStM and welcome to wecandyflip. Could you please introduce yourself?
illstm: Haha, in French "introduce yourself" means: "put something into your body": NO THX!

us: And how would you describe your music?
illstm: My music is sharp to flip the dancefloor. The idea is to mix Zouk and Black Metal.

us: How did you get where you are now? ie. how did you get into producing and remixing electronic music?
illstm: Haha, I'm not sure to be somewhere. And I don't say that because i live in Oslo, no misunderstanding!! More seriously, I have followed the electronic music since I was 15 years old with the first free parties in France (spi, furious etc..), of course I wasn't there only for the music ;) At this time, all the electronic music made with a clap and a bitchy voice was big shit for me. The first time I was in a club, I went to listen to Garnier and the awesome live of Scan X, and I thought: "OK maybe I'll not forever be lost in a forest, dancing with a pack of 12 dogs under a strobe set to 180bpm." At this time I produced Hardtek or Acidcore with fruity loops or rebirth.. but it was not a big succes! I was better with my saxophone, playing other musical styles like funk, punk or free jazz.

us: What have been the main influences on your music?

And of course: Ingmar Bergman, Gilles Deleuze and Arvö Part.

us: You worked with vocalist Hanny on one of your tracks. Are you thinking about any other collaborations in the future?
illstm: For sure! She's amazing!

us: What are you currently working on? Can we expect any new tracks or remixes from you before too long?
illstm: A new track feat Malik aka Anatomy, MC from Chicago. Don't try to find his Myspace, he doesn't have one, pure underground MC ;) My first priority it's to produce original tracks, not rmx. I can rmx my friends or if u ask me, but it's really not my goal to produce 10 rmx'es by day of famous artists to make noize around my name. At the moment I prefer to make my own shit.

us: Or an IllStM EP?
illstm: EP for what? I prefere to give my tracks for free on 10 good blogs than an EP. "Uppercut" is released on CB LYON Rec, I accepted only because A Girl And A Gun asked for it, and I'm not very good at saying no! If one day I work with a label, it will be because I want to integrate a family, to work with a famous sound egineer and share experience. For example if BNR ask me to sign something, I dont know if I will accept.. PLEASE TRY! TRY! ASK ME!! Haha

us: What is your setup for producing new material?
illstm: My knife and my balls!

us: If no new music for us quite yet, how about performances? Any gigs lined up at the moment?
illstm: Mostly in Scandinavia, IllStM is a very young project (I started it 5 month ago) and I have already played with big names like Sinden, Etienne de Crecy and Mstrkrft. Each time the crowd has thought I was there to do the warm-up for the main artist, but after 2 min it's become a burn-up. I'm very glad lots of people like my music and want to see me, and that with no big team around me.. it's crazy!

us: What are your thoughts on a tour?
illstm: I want, that's why I try to organize a little bit the project and try to find a good booker to work with me. Why do u think duos are going very fast compared to people working on their own? It's not only about music, it's a lot of work also!

us: If you could play anywhere and with anyone, what would your ideal gig be?
illstm: I can imagine a lot of crazy and weird things, but to be sentimental: My ideal gig will be to play with other artists who are really good friends. When the line up is a real family, u can feel it on the dancefloor. It's a real party!

us: Have you got any crazy or embarassing stories from a gig or party?
illstm: u dont want to know

us: When you are at parties or just out, what is your drink of choice?
illstm: I don't drink, i only sweat!

us: What is the music scene like in your area?
illstm: Minimal progressive and Black Metal... make your choice...

us: Do you think you are working on changing that at the moment?
illstm: Yes i try to loose weight and to make my hair growing again!

i got in contact with jeroen from the belgian party starters dead disco drivers a couple of weeks ago to ask if him and simon would be interested in doing an interview for the blog. they were, but, thanks to my chronic disorganisation, it's taken me this long to sort it out for them! however they sent the answers over the other day and we now have the interview for you.

us: Dead Disco Drivers. Where the name come from?
ddd: When we decided to start a musical duo in the summer of 2008, we wanted a name that had an epic touch.
Something that would fit in the underground scene, but with a funky touch. We both found out that we were looking for a new 'disco'-style.
So Simon came up with the terms 'Dead Disco' (meaning: returning to disco influences in a modern musicstyle). But Dead Disco just didn't seem to fit all the way.
We added 'Drivers', to make the alliteration complete: DDD (3D) if you like ;)

us: Could the two of you please introduce yourselves?
ddd: Simon: 19 years old, musical brain behind DDD, producing magician, untidy, never finishes a project until it's perfectly done, curls
Jeroen: 20 years old, rest of the brain behind DDD, main DJ, untidy, hardly finishes a project (thank god he has Simon), no curls

us: How did you both meet and get into producing banging electronic music?
ddd: We're both neighbours and friends. We grew up in the same neighbourhood since we were 6 years i guess. And we both started going to musicschool at a young age. Here's where the passion started. Through the years Simon specialised himself in producing and became a keyboardwizard. I (jeroen) stopped with music for a while around the age of 12, but found the passion again when i was 15/16. I found out about mixing and made it one of the things i can do best. We never stopped being friends through our school-carriere, which helps ;) (went to the same parties, had some of the same friends, went for drinks...). And that's what brought us together in the summer of 2008. With the electro-scene on it's first steps in Belgium, we decided we wanted to be a part of it.

us: Your sound appears to have elements of Justice and Daft Punk in it, with similar styles of synth and song structure. Who are your main influences?
ddd: I think a lot of guys might have the same influences as us: like justice (the sound and structure), daft punk (the smoothness), MSTRKRFT (the sound), Kavinsky (! we're both a big fan of mr. testarossa), Soulwax (our proudest Belgium product, like the godfathers), goose (we're from the same hometown! Booya), Shameboy (also Belgium), Felix Cartal (everybody nowadays knows felix, just hard pounding stuff), danger... Just so many good producers out there, and not only the famous names... There a lot of smaller producers out there that have great sounds, thank god some blogs show them ;)

us: I love your sound! Is there a chance of us hearing more of it soon, like with a Dead Disco Drivers EP? Or are there any remixes you two are currently working on?
ddd: Our very first song we produced ('Disco is Dead'), a kind of 'test-track', has gotten a lot of great comment and it has been recently released in France, by Be Yourself Networks (http://www.vimeo.com/4473751). It's out on itunes and some other bases, so that's available. For our very own EP... i hope that's something we can realise very soon. We just have a labelcontract with Universal Music (woehoe) by our Sam Sparrow remix. Maybe we can get something going with them. We're just working on a new (BANGING) song now, maybe if that works out ;) We've also started on creating a live-set...

us: When you aren't working on new material, how do you both like to spend your free time?
ddd: Seriously Simon and I probably are addicted to music :D Most of the time we put in music. But if we don't: we go to parties, go catch a movie, have a drink in the irish pub, meet up with friends and play some poker, skateboard...

us: Do either of you listen to other genres of music? Quite a few electro producers are really into their classic rock and metal.
ddd: You can't keep up with non-stop electro. Off course we like other genres as well. We both grew up with some awesome bands: like everybody knows the offspring, blink 182, bloodhound gang, metallica, ACDC...The classics... We dare to listen to some pure techno, classic 80s...(no jumping 90's, We've had like this major hype about 90s-music in Belgium and we've had it that kinda music!). We sure do like classic rocknroll, it just a very wide taste of music.

us: Both of you are pretty young, 18 and 19 I heard! What's it like DJing and performing at places you presumably only went to party before?
ddd: We're a year older now, 19 and 20 ;). For instance we have like this huge partyroom, called Main Hall, in our Hometown. We used to go there for every party, it has a capacity of over 2000 people. And past februari we were able to DJ on that stage and that was great.
Being able to get massive crowd going wild on a particulur track. Your name being projected behind you on a huge screen, some fireworks, lights... just a great kick. We love to make the crowd go wild and pump up the vibe, makes it that more exciting. And we intend to do
the same thing with our live set.

us: I take it you both like to party hard?
ddd: Ow yes! definately! Weither we're dj'ing ourselves or just party. We like to go wild. For instance we've been to this gig with Bloody Beetroots and steve aoki... that was just insane, crowdsurfing, non stop shouting and jumping... love it. We always try to catch as many parties as we can, to have seen as many artists as we can.

us: Do either of you have any embarassing or crazy stories from parties?
ddd: Not yet, but we'll sure get some ;)

us: If you are out partying, what is your drink of choice?
ddd: Depends on which kinda party your at: sometimes a couple of great Belgium beers will do just fine, sometimes a whisky sour,sometimes gin, sometimes Baileys... Alcohol just does the trick ;)

us: And do either of you have a favourite kind of food?
ddd: Mc donalds? no no, we both love food, so it's too hard to pick one dish.

us: Whilst I'm asking about favourites, who are each of your top five producers at the moment?
ddd: pff hard question:
- soulwax (cause, you know, it's soulwax)
- Felix Cartal has some nice new tracks, all though his first ones were better than his last remixes (i think)
- we have to give credit to our Belgium 'collegues': Sound of Stereo. Maybe not completely our style of producing, but hell these guys know how to produce
- Danger (just a true idol of us, that sound and melodies... something we want to accomplish as well)
- mashed paper klub (an pretty unknown belgium duo, but with some insanely nice tracks! you guys kick ass)
... (so many more, that we cant think of at the moment)

us: And could either of you give a list of your five current favourite tracks?
ddd: 5 favourite tracks? impossible, but we got a few tracks we always wanne hear on a gig:

ddd: Electribe, Microkorg, Virus TI (love it!), roland juno 60, yamaha motif, microkorg R3, couple of VST's, connect everything on the laptop (ableton off course, with controller UC 33) and you're ready to go.

us: If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
ddd: Carmen electra! Because she has like a fine... Or maybe kavinsky... hmmm tough call

i'm sure you'll agree, a damn good interview. and not only are the two of them genuinely nice guys, but they also produce some banging electro music, which is always good! jeroen sent over one of their tracks, presets on parade, and it's one of my favourite tunes at the minute.

it has some lovely synth sounds and utilises effects very nicely. of course, the sidechaining and booming kick definitely help the sound! if you give it a listen, you can definitely hear the daft punk and justice-esque influences, in similar song structures. i think simon and jeroen have achieved the smoothness they were looking for already as well, particularly in this track. i'm definitely keeping my ears open for more material from these two, which should hopefully be arriving soon, as they are being contacted by a number of labels, including, as they say, universal music and be yourself network.

sxndrgs: We've done a couple bootlegs and are working on some full length remixes.

sxndrgs: No. We tried piano for a little bit but we couldnt figure out how to install ableton on it.

sxndrgs: We grew up near each other and always had the same love for bngrz of all sorts. One day we were hangin out, pounded a sixpack of 'mikes hard lemonade' and out came chrome depot.

us: We're certainly glad you did! Have you got any plans for touring or further gigging though, so we can see you play your music too?
sxndrgs: Absolutely. We will only tour with alternative electro acts such as steve 'bloody beetroots' aoki or JusticeCross.

us: What do you think the rest of 2009 holds in store for SXNDRGS?
sxndrgs: Maybe we'll make a tune with an intro

us: And what will we see of SXNDRGS in 2010?
sxndrgs: We will dominate the world and be on beatport.

from the looks of the blog when i got home this morning, my attempt at setting up the scheduling on here to post the pro7 update for me didn't work. and from the looks of that, i typed in the wrote date, as i've had a few posts drafted for just under a week and had no idea where i was at when i set it up yesterday. drinking the above with just two of my friends in a night probably didn't help. so, for that, i apologise.

i'm also sorry to the people i've been emailing and those that have contacted me that i have promised interviews to and have not yet got them done. this is, again, thanks to my confusion. myspace appears to have deleted all my sent messages, and half of my inbox seems to have vanished, so i'm more confused regarding the matter than usual. if i haven't gotten back to you, i said i would in a short amount of time and we only spoke via myspace, then please send me a reminder message as the original has probably gone. also, if i haven't yet contacted you and you'd like to feature on the blog, email me and we'll get something sorted.

yes, this is my second post today. i'm not featuring any new material as such, more lending a hand. you see, i was dropped a message from pristine blusters the other week saying that they had just finished their new track and were looking for people to remix it. i'd give it a go, but i have a levels on at the moment and can't find the time to give it the attention that it deserves. so, rather than just leave it at that, i had a brainwave. i thought to myself, "hey, quite a few producers and djs read my blog, maybe they could give it a go!" blindingly obvious i know, but i am pretty slow. especially considering the fact that it took me over a week to realise this.

anyway, i've sent out a couple of emails, received a couple of replies and heard nothing from some. but this is here for those who i haven't yet emailed, most likely because i don't have your address or i have confused myself and think i've already sent you a message. but anyway, enough of my quite astounding lack of organisation and lack of my common sense, and more music.

the new track is called give me. it is, in a word, incredible. it reminds me a lot of justice and daft punk, as it features the similar vocoded vocals and retro-style synths. but i absolutely love this track. to get an idea of what it sounds like, here is the demo:

the trio are looking for people to attempt remixing the song. it's damn good as it is, but i'm sure you'll agree that there is also plenty of potential for turning it into a real banger, or mellowing it out and mixing it up with some chilled out samples, as well as so much more.

cepi roolz

welcome to the third in just as many days featuring cepi! more than we've done before and i doubt we'll be getting any more than this any time soon. it is well worth it though. cepi is still pretty unknown at the moment, but is incredibly hard-working and has an awesome sound, so i'm more than happy to help promote him where i can. and today i'll be doing just that, again, as we have an exclusive of his new ep, entitled cepi roolz.

the ep is comprised of four tracks; come with it, distortion, protector and cepiendirekt. the first, come with it, is a pretty minimal track, all things considered, but is damn heavy and makes me want to move. it has a lovely, booming kick sound which is soon accompanied by a distorted and detuned guitar, making the track sound almost like a bastard love child of metallica in their early days and justice on a pcp binge. or something similar.

distortion does exactly what it says on the tin. it opens with a lovely and almost squelchy riff that is repeated throughout the whole track. it is built upon nicely though, layered with a lazy snare that sounds as if the drummer were half asleep when it was recorded. however, it goes really well with the general feel of the track, and brings out the higher and more subtle stabbing synth that is almost a part of the background. you can give this track a listen at the bottom of the interview i did with cepi.

protector follows, which i think is favourite track from the ep. it's half metal, half pounding electro house. and it's amazing. the lovely almost tinny-sounding guitar is diced and sliced nicely, giving the track a really grimey vibe. you can almost hear the rust on the guitar strings. and this one has a looped vocal, which also fits in really well. it gives the track a more memorable hook, which i think we'll be seeing a lot more of in cepi's further productions. i've uploaded this track for you to stream, as it's so different from what we tend to hear in the scene, i think you really should try it.

and then the final track is cepiendirekt. it has a pretty glitchy sound, i think, and fidgety? although i have no idea what either of those really mean any more, but i've used them in the sense that the beat of the track and sound of the offbeat and repeated vocoded hats sound, to me, like they are glitching or fidgeting, is the only way i can describe it. whatever the hell i mean, it's a damn catchy and great sounding song.

so, just in case you somehow hadn't figured already, i really like the ep! and cepi sent the whole thing over and said i should post it up for you all. who am i to argue? grab the full cepi roolz ep right here, right now.

mango juice is like my favourite drink on earth. i can't find anywhere that sells it on it's own though, except netto. and there isn't one near me, which sucks.

anyway, tonight i bring you the long-promised and finally realised interview with san diego's cepi. and it's great. i've never met anyone else who's favourite drink is mango juice as well! plus, he sent over some amazing tracks, a couple of which you can listen to below.

us: CEPI. What does the name mean and where did it come from?
cepi: CEPI is short for Cepillo, which is a hair comb in spanish.
My dad said my hair looked like a cepillo.
it was my childhood nickname & still is.

cepi: I have one of the most embaressing moments.
It was my first gig ever.
It was a high school party for a party crew.
I had to play hip hop.
& only had a couple of days to prepare a mix.
Everything was going great.
Until it got raided by cops.
My "DJ Booth" was in a corner of a room.
I was the last one out of the house.
The house was empty & was to be sold soon.
The cops thought we broke in.
& held my tables for "evidence".
Never saw them again.

us: Have you ever met a celebrity? If so, who and where?
cepi: I havnt personally met a celebrity.
Ive seen many.

us: If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

it's quite an upbeat, light, happy kind of track, but with the not so subtle darker undertones, in the form of the booming kick. it's pretty different, but i'm really digging it at the moment.

i also found this one sat in my inbox, taken from the upcoming cepi roolz ep. distorted is the name, and it certainly lives up to it. the drums aren't as 'in your face' as they are on some of his other tracks, but their presence is still most definitely felt. the synth also makes itself well known, being the main focus of the track, with a lovely and raw sound. the bass also eventually wears down to almost being as if it were being heard blasting out a car down the road or the neighbour's bedroom or something, which i really like.

keep your eyes peeled for the ep, it is fantastic. and it should be available to you all soon.

cepi is albert sarinana. cepi is a dj. cepi is a producer. cepi produces extremely good material. cepi also produces incredibly good remixes. and now cepi is finally featured on the blog. not the interview promised, but i will get that written up soon.

if you head over to see cepi on myspace, you'll see that he has quite a number of remixes under his belt already. my personal favourite is his take on fred falke's enamoured, which starts out pretty chilled and with soft drum and piano breaks, then lashes out with some hardcore, old school disco sounds after about a minute. there's some nice offbeat sampling and lovely use of cutting and slicing. check out our incredible new direct linking (bet you've never seen something so awe-inspiring before in your life) and either grab the track and give it a listen, or stream it here and see what i mean.

burn burn

anyone remember the lostprophets song with that name? i loved that track. i love the one i got sent by british producer burns earlier today as well. his sound is pretty hard to put a label on, as it seems to vary from track to track. what remains the same, however, is the quality; it's brilliant. each of his tracks i've listened to, i've liked. without fail. a lot. which does not tend to happen often, or, indeed, at all.

the track i have for you today is a fantastic remix of the song heavy cross by gossip, which is a catchy one as it is. this remix really adds to it though, taking the main vocals and beat and building upon them, adding a couple of dreamy and spacey synths, slightly upping the tempo and pitch and banging the shit out of the bass with a beastly kick. i love the wood block-esque sound used as well. for some reason it just puts a smile on my face.

i was also dropped another of vimeo's finest, also of burns. the video itself was put together by a guy called thomas bachellier, who i gather is friends with burns. it's an entertaining skit, showing off burns' new track entitled turbo.

turbo, according to the man, is "already picked as dj magazine's single of the month." understandable. there's some crazy basslines ripping the track to shreds and, my god, is this thing easy to dance to. not quite as well as the fine gentlemen in the video, but hey, if i can dance to it, i'm pretty sure anyone can.

brand spanking new

new month, new day, new post, and now new look as well!

i've got the new layout up and i think it's looking a lot better. the coding's all done and i think there's a couple of minor errors, but nothing that's going to make it look horrific or stop it from displaying half the content. i've just got to finish formatting all the existing posts to make the interviews easier to read and suchlike.

but let me know what you think of it now that it's actually being used.

whilst we're on the subject of new, i found a message from burns in my inbox today. it has a brand new video and remix of his in it, so i'll be sorting out the uploads and posting them up later tonight. also, i got another message from cepi, who has a brand spanking new remix up on his myspace page. i've been promising him an interview and feature on the blog for over a week now, and have still gotten around to doing absolutely nothing towards it yet, other than listening to all his material i can find. and it is bloody good, which just makes me feel even more guilty for constantly delaying. however, no more! i'll have a feature on him up later tonight as well, and an interview soon. i've also kept nadisko and hostage waiting for an interview, but i'll hopefully be seing those off tomorrow as well.

just a damn good band

not some form of sleazy soft porn, so sorry to disappoint some of you, but instead, as was promised and not delivered yesterday, here is the just a band post.

i got an email from them a couple days ago with a nice little file attached and just a message to enjoy the track. and my god, enjoy it i did. and still do. and am, as i've got it blaring loud enough to rattle the springs my snare drum over the other side of the room. and speaking of rooms, i may get a picture for you, just so you can see where i attempt to get everything sorted, and kind of for the hell of it, as i got a newish camera today. newish, since it's brand new to me, but my brother got a new one before he went back to uni this morning and left his old one for me, which i thought was pretty awesome of him.

anyway, getting back to the actual point of this post, the track that i was sent was just the band's approach to la roux's newish single bulletproof. it makes me agree with the claim that just a band rocks as hell. it bangs about as much as gene simmons did back in the day. and that was a fuck load. literally. but no more of my, particularly today, inane spewings. give the track a listen and i'm sure you will agree. if not then you may need your ears seeing to.

and i don't know if any of you are into many other types of music, other than banging electro and the like, but i've been a huge fan of dance gavin dance for ages now, and they have some songs from their new album up on their myspace page. incredibly good, if you ask me. and since you're reading this, i'll assume you may actually wish to do so. however, it is a lot more metal/hardcore/experimental/whatever else you want to label it. but for me, as i've said before, it sounds good, i like it; it's up here. not a feature, mind, as i'd like to keep this blog more within the realms of electronic music. just thought it worth a mention, seeing as how i'm currently head over heels for this band. again.

to show you that i haven't just been sat around doing pretty much fuck all, the above is the idea i have for the new look for the blog. it's a lot darker, but i think much clearer and more aesthetically pleasing. it'll also give us a logo! of course, that is so long as a little skewed text counts. but regardless, i think it looks better and should be easier on the eyes if you're checking out the post titles, menu headers and dates and whatever else.

plus i'm planning on getting direct links sorted for all the tracks, to make downloading easier. i've been using depositfiles so far, as i've had an account with them before and always found their speeds more than agreeable. however, i don't like making you click, click, wait and click to get the tracks i post up, as i know how much it annoys me, so i'll be trying to sort that out for all future tracks and see if i can edit all the posts i've already made and give you direct links to those as well.

streaming will still be available, as will the sharebee links, as i like being able to let you preview the tracks before you download them, or have them playing whilst you read an interview from the author and suchlike. and sharebee offers a great service as it uploads to zshare, where you can also preview the tracks, and a couple of other sites that quite a few people have accounts on. these will all stay in case something happens to the direct links, but the direct ones will, i think, be a nice addition.

anyway, let me know what you think about the coming changes; whether you like the new design, you'll appreciate direct links, you want me to stop posting anything but music because you're just here for the tracks, you like the interviews or whatever. basically, get commenting! i'd love to know what people think of the blog, and i'm sure the artists i post up and interview would appreciate comments on their material as well.

and how wrong. i won't have the just a band post up today, but i'll get it on here tomorrow. again; i'm sorry. however, i have been designing a new layout for the blog, which looks a lot smoother and a hell of a lot nicer. it's mostly grey and green, with a little blue. but it means we'll have a logo! finally. which should help and will make the blog look a whole lot nicer.

i will get everything sorted before too long, and more interviews will be coming. i'm writing one up for blatta and inesha at the moment, the disco villains have one, vektorkat are answering some questions, i've just sent some over to the fckn crew, and that's about all i can remember off the top of my head. oh, and i'm still writing some for hostage. all of whom have also promised tracks, pictures and i think we have a video or two coming as well.

good things are coming, just may take some time, as i'm incredibly lazy and incredibly disorganised, neither of which are particularly useful traits. but i love this blog and i love talking to all the artists i have so far and am very much looking forward to continuing to do so, so expect to see things picking up soon!

today we bring you an interview with swedish producer owl vision, who is currently an in-demand producer and remixer. he is definitely going places, and with gathering momentum, so be sure to keep your eye on this one!

us: Kind of as a brief introduction, would you care to tell us a little about yourself? As in who you are and how you began producing the music that has lead to the current Owl Vision?
ov: My name is Johannes and I live in Gotheburg, Sweden. I started out as a hiphop beat maker, making real hardcore beats, but I got tired of what the whole hiphop scene was becoming with all the pimps & hoes & bling (and I also got tired of crate digging, haha). So I tried out making some tracks using software synthesizers and it felt awesome.
That is what made me buy my first analogue synthesizer and really got me focusing on making my own tracks from scratch instead of basing them on samples.

us: We see you've released a free album on your Myspace page and there's a few of your other productions and remixes floating around on The Hype Machine and storming through the rest of the Internet at the moment. What have you got in store for us in the future?
ov: Right now I'm working on tracks for my new album! By the looks of it, it'll probably be finished before the end of summer.
I still have to figure out whether to release it for free online like "Comorbid" or through a record label.
Anyway, the new album contains twice the amount of tracks so keep on looking out for the new shit!

I just recently finished a remix for danish artist Birk Storm (VUF records) that's waiting to be released.
I also made a remix for LA indie-rapper Ivan Ives (No Threshold records) that just released his new album .

us: You seem to have gigged at venues across Scandanavia. Have you got any plans for the rest of Europe or other areas in the world?
ov: I'd love to play the rest of europe and I'd love to play worldwide. I'm not that good of a promoter for myself, especially not when I'm occupied with making music.

I'm going to San Francisco and down south California for a couple of weeks in the end of august so bookers over there; Holler at me!

us: Your production style seems to be pretty dark and heavy, but then you use some nice light and almost upbeat synths to produce a unique sound. How did this style come about?
ov: I've always listened to the darker and harder parts of different music genres. The lighter parts may be "a light in the dark". Simple as that, haha.
I find the feeling and mix of langour, sadness & horror much more interesting than the radio pop music filled with cliches about dancing with your single ladies and drinking champagne all night. Aren't people tired of hearing the same lyrics over and over?

us: At the moment, you appear to be an upcoming producer in the world of electronic music. Where do you hope to see yourself in the next year or so?
ov: I haven't really thought of that. Hopefully I'll be rocking out on a larger scale at bigger clubs!

us: From what we can gather, you've currently only gigged solo. If there was another artist you could share a gig with, who would like it to be and why?
ov: I'd love to do a gig with MSTRKRFT or Justice :)

us: It sounds like your music has a number of different influences. Who are some of the acts you think have had the greatest impact on your work?
ov: To say a few; Depeche Mode, She Wants Revenge, Death From Above 1979, Covenant, The Presets, DJ Premier & Stoup (The Enemy of Mankind).

us: Staying within the same kind of electro genre as your music, who are some of your current favourite producers?
ov: Favourites right now are, Vektorkat, Huoratron and (I don't know if this one counts as electro) the danish band Veto!

us: What is your current setup for producing and remixing?
ov: Synthesizers, distortions, drummachine/sampler and a computer for mixing.

us: Do you have any tips for artists just starting out, in getting their productions out there and getting themselves heard?
ov: First of all; make music that makes YOU feel good.
Second; start out with spreading that shit online!

the first track is his gnarly electro remix of katy perry's 'i kissed a girl,' which has such added bass and whirling synth sounds that it takes a few listens to let it all sink in. i think it is an absolutely brilliant track.

the second is an original production, which starts with a sound that i think can only be described as sparkly. the tune is a lot more upbeat than most of his originals, but remains true to his unique style and features what is almost owl vision's trademark kind of synth sound. a brilliant tune, and one that i can see myself listening to for a long time yet.

and, as if this weren't enough, he is also offering his debut ep for free download here. check the link at the top of the page. comprised of some truly awesome songs, it's well worth downloading and listening to. it's currently one of my favourite releases, without a shadow of a doubt.

yup, time for another apology, for once again failing to update the blog. my excuse is that 'twas my parents' 25th wedding anniversary and they threw a pretty massive party. lots of free alcohol and lots of people i haven't seen in years, leading to me not being a fit state to string together a coherent sentence. again. so i thought the blog would probably benefit from not being exposed to my inane and slurred ramblings at the time.

instead, i'll be adding two updates today to make up for it. i've got an interview with swedish producer owl vision, and a couple of his tracks for you. and i was also sent some material from group just a band, so i'll stick that and a quick writeup on them and their music up later as well for you all.

on a bit of a random tangent, i've got a nice busy week ahead of me, so sorry if the interviews slow for a bit or i get things updated a little late. just i have myself a nice a level paper tomorrow, with another the day after, two on the thursday and another two on friday. going to be a whole load of fun. then i have another six between the 11th and 17th, which is a hell of a lot better. then there's a banging house party lined up on the 19th for one my friend's 18th birthday, and she's got some pretty fun stuff sorted for that. so i'll be attempting to pre-emt my own inebriation, and either update the blog twice the day before or see if i can figure out the post scheduling system on blogger, which still confuses me. but you now know, so if, in a couple of weeks, i don't make an appearence for a day, you'll be ready for it. but you also know that i'll be making it up to you.

anyway, i'll sort out the material for today and get myself outside. it's an absolutely beautiful day today, so i'll either sit outside chatting to whoever's still here or fall asleep and getting horrifically sunburnt. again. having last time fallen asleep on my back in a field and being a lovely shade of bright red for the next week or so. wasn't particularly fun, but damn amusing for my friends.

but i think what i was trying to say was enjoy yourselves and sorry if things are a little slow for the next couple of weeks. i've got exams and borderline alcoholism, so i'm kinda busy or otherwise unable to post, but i just wanted to let you all know that i realise it and that i will make up for what i don't do.

our post for you today is courtesy of a certain matt stypulkowski, a young essex lad producing incredibly loud and very fun music under the name of megatron. his sound reminds us of so many other electro artists, with filth and, in parts, squelchy basslines, but with a unique and almost upbeat vibe to it. someone we played it to said "it sounds like crookers, just not as harsh a sound." quite the compliment!

anyway, we will leave you with the interview and, underneath, a couple of remixes matt was kind enough to send us.

us: Megatron - the leader of the evil Decepticons. What made you choose the name?
megatron: It's actually nothing to do with Transformers. Not many people believe me when I tell them that, but it's true. I was trying to think of a cool sounding robot names, and it was between Ultrabot or Megatron. I chose Megatron. I never even watched Transformers when I was little!

us: Could you introduce yourself and your music for us?
megatron: My name is Matthew Wolfgang Stypulkowski and I make loud electronic music on my computer.

us: Much like Megatron himself, your music is powerful, with massive basslines and some very nice synth sounds. How did your style come about?
megatron: I've been into computer music for 5 or 6 years now. I used to spend hours and hours on Fruityloops making tunes, but there's only so much you can do on a program like that, so now I tend to use logic. There are so many more possibilities on Logic. I just wanted to make music that people would want to dance to.

us: What is your musical background? Like how did you get into producing your unique electro house sound?
megatron: It's more a hobby than anything really, one of my creative outputs. My influences are constantly changing depending on what I'm listening to at the time, as you can probably hear on the tracks on the myspace. When I first started I was really into Justice, but then I moved away from that and was listening to a lots of Does It Offend You Yeah? and Hot Chip or Simian Mobile Disco and then I'd listen to Modest Mouse or Daft Punk.

us: You've put out some really nice original tracks. Can we expect any remixes anytime soon?
megatron: Thankyou! I'm actually working on remixing Pop Musik by M at the moment. It should be good when it's done. I've done a few remixes already, Simian Mobile Disco - Hotdog and Audio Bullys - We Don't Care are probably my favourite out of all of them.

us: And is there a chance of a Megatron EP being unleashed on us before too long?
megatron: Hopefully, soon. I think I'd like to make a few more tracks that I'm really happy with before I release anything. I'm a perfectionist.

us: For your work, what setup do you use?
megatron: When I'm recording I use Logic Pro. Generally speaking I sample drums from other peoples songs and record synth and whatever over the top. I've got loads of little synths and gizmos to play around on too which is always fun. I'm always on the look out for weird instruments to add to my collection.

Live I DJ my tracks out through Traktor Pro and try to do something interesting with them. I'm always changing my live setup really. My first gig I had all this percussion gear and did this cowbell solo and went crazy on this floor tom. I had a kaoss pad for a little bit, and sometimes I bring some synths along for fun. It all depends on how I feel really. I'm hoping to get some percussionists and synth players to help me out live in the future.

us: When you aren't producing or performing, how do you like to use your time?
megatron: I use my time pretty musically. I play piano a lot and I'm always practicing my DJing.

but when I'm not doing that I spend a lot of my time with my girlfriend and my friends, and watch a stupid amount of films and TV. I'm really liking Afro Samurai at the moment, with Samuel L Jackson. It's pretty good.

us: Essex. We've heard the scene down there is pretty active. How would you describe it?
megatron: I'd say Chelmsford's where it's at in Essex at the moment really. I play a lot there. Barhouse is a really nice place to play, and they always give me gigs. They get some really good acts there sometimes. I know Squarepusher is DJing there soon.

us: Any gigs or a UK tour planned in the coming months?
megatron: Not as of yet, but hopefully I'll have some sorted soon. I'd like to try my hand at DJing some places while I'm writing some new material. I really enjoy DJing.

us: Have you got any crazy stories from gigs or parties you've been to or performed at?
megatron: The only story I can really think of is when I played this gig in Killburn to pretty much an empty room at some pub, and there was this nutcase woman who didn't realise it was a live venue! When I started my set she kept screaming at me to "turn it down!" because she had "come out for a quiet drink". Then she started unplugging all my gear, while I was playing. I didn't know what to do, haha.

So I just plugged it all back in and when she tried unplugging it again the bouncer picked up her boyfriend and launched him out the door. It was all pretty funny, and all this while I was still playing.

But afterwards we got talking to some guys who liked my stuff and I ended up DJing at a house party in Harrow, so it was a good night in the end.

us: And your drink of choice when you're partying? Kind of our standard questions now!
megatron: Me and my friends are pretty obsessed with White Russians at the moment, because we're all Big Lebowski fanatics. It's like vodka, coffee liqueur and light cream. It's nice. But my drink of choice is Pear Koppaberg. If you've never tried one I recommend you go to your local Wetherspoons and ask for one. It's a really nice Swedish cider.

us: So long as Megatron doesn't kill us all, what can we expect from you in the rest of 2009?
megatron: Hopefully a lot more shows,remixes and maybe an EP. I'd like some gigs in Brighton because I'll be living nearby soon and the scene down there is amazing!

our feature today is a very friendly french gentleman who goes by the name of sawgood. his music is heavy and should be played extremely loud, and he has recently been supported by the likes of kissy sell out, who played three of his tracks on his latest airing of his bbc radio 1 show. this young man is definitely going places, and is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

us: Sawgood; another French rough electro act from Lyon. Your sound is distinctive as it is heavier and has a dirtier feel to it than most. How did this style come about?
sawgood: So its easy ... I LOVE PHATTTTTTTTTTTT MUSIC.
So I think Im not very very dirty man or phat man.Cuz I try to get the limit between dirty/ loud / and punchy.
And that is not easy.

us: Was the local scene a big influence on the sound of your productions, do you think?
sawgood: Yes Im realy influenced by the nu electro scene. I don't want make the same tracks. but I think when you love something.. you are influenced by it...

us: Who have been your other musical influences?
sawgood: Drum n bass... Raaaahhh I think I prefers good drum n bass than sex , than drink, than... than everything..
but My favorite music is electro tracks coming from a drum n bass design , like noisia ( yellow brick , crank it up feat hadouken ) or spor ( feed me ), Dilemn, Proxy , polymorphic...I like I like I like, But in general I prefers drum n bass

us: You have a handful of brilliant original tracks to your name at the moment, but I've not yet seen any remixes! Are there any you're working on at the moment, or any more original productions?
sawgood: no remixes because Im not good remixer.
I don't know how to work with a sample.
Cuz I very much like to work one day of one good synths or do a fucking big bass. but with remixes you can't transform it , you are not very very very free...
but I will learn, and to begin with I have worked with just a vocal sample from A GIRL AND GUN.... This is a good start , no ?

us: What can expect from Sawgood in the rest of 2009 and 2010?
sawgood: SOOOO the future is not written. So I work on some tracks, and I wanna begin to play a show. dj set and live(but I must change my computer for it )

us: We've not yet seen you blogged or written about much yet, so hopefully this interview will help spread your sound. What's your exposure like locally?
sawgood: So, Sawgood was born in 2009 march... So Im noobie, And Is not easy to be known when you are noob.So I must thank kissy sell out and BBC radio one. My song was spun on "In new dj's We trust"
I have played 2 events in Lyon since March...

us: We can't see any gig dates up on your Myspace page, but it's hard to see why with a sound like yours! Do you have any plans for gigging or touring at all?
sawgood: not yet; no propositions... raaahhhhh

us: If not gigging, what about partying?
sawgood: Yes... lots of.. Yesterday... PROXY.. I think I will be crazy... Raahh he is a very good artist

us: Have you ever met or performed for any celebrities?
sawgood: Just kissy or a few others in the drum n bass and dubstep world.
So its very stange. Never electro people speak with me.. I don't know why. lol. maybe they don't like my work or something like that..

us: Your Myspace page lists you as friends with some top acts, such as the Fckn Crew and Proxy. Have you ever worked with other artists on any collaborations?
sawgood: Fckn crew is a good friend. We are working on a new project

us: If not yet, who would you ideally like to work or perform with and why?
sawgood: Proxy ,because I love him...

us: Do you have a dream event or venue that you could perform a career ending gig at?
sawgood: An asian tour.... Or play with FCKN CREW and MONSTER X...

us: Is there a dream location you have, somewhere that you would love to visit someday?
sawgood: China , cambodia , jappon...

'good dream' builds upon a nice raw sounding synth throughout the song, with a very nice structure and proxy-esque style. 'licks them' takes this further, utilising multiple layers and interspersing a couple of vocal samples. the track almost produces a wall of sound, but is probably not the best to get people moving, as it's more likely to leave them stood still in stunned silence. all in all, two very impressive tracks.

baxter beez is the voice of the ghetto. his sound is filthy, grimey and awesome. we have for you now a highly entertaining interview with the man himself, an exclusive preview from his upcoming ep and one of our favourite tracks of his.

us: Baxter Beez, an interesting name! How did you come up with it?
bb: If I've got good memory, Baxter the Fly was a villain in the Ninja Turtles cartoon. I keep "Baxter" and "Fly" turn in "Beez" because of the WuTang anthem "Killa beez".

us: Would you care to tell us a little bit about yourself, as means of a brief introduction?
bb: Well I am Baxter Beez from far far away... I grew up in a brothel before working for Jabba. I drove cargos for him but some day I fucked up so I moved thru the galaxies to finally land on Earth. I don't know who are my parents & what I really am (maybe I have wookie blood in my veins) but I am pretty sure about one thing I am here to dominate the human charts!!!

us: Your sound is unique and almost grimey, it's brilliant! How did it come about?
bb: Before I started producing dance music, I used to spend my time in the Mopse's studio, listening to hiphop beats. Many producers and deejay were around such as Surkin who use to bring ghetto tech and miami bass records. I felt in this music something special which made me remember my space life!

us: What is your musical background, and like how did you end up producing the filthy electro house music you are currently doing?
bb: As I said, I listened to a lot of hip hop music. Then I discovered ghetto techno with Databass records or shit like that. It was so exciting to my ears. Back then, I did not listen to house music but to commercial dance (dance machine on french tv), techno & jungle we found in free party (bad company...) and a lot of things! Later, french distorded electro music became a reference and I began digging house & disco funk tracks which took me to producing my music.

us: Who would you say are you main musical influences?
bb: I would say Michael Jackson because he is an alien!

us: We've heard quite a few remixes from you, all amazing! Are you currently working on any more?
bb: I've just done a remix for Tone records and I am finishing a remix for Tambour Battant who are longtime friends of mine. After that back to my own shit!

us: But we've only heard a couple of original tracks. Can we expect a Baxter Beez EP or any further releases before too long?
bb: Yes of course! I am actually working on my next two EPs. I produced the first one with Don Nola. It's called "Westhood EP" and will be released in september. The second is "Voice of the Ghetto" and remixes. Dig it dawgz!

us: What setup do you use for producing your new material?
bb: The studio is pretty cheap. I use few synths like DX7 & microkorg. They are sent in moog effects and analog filters then compressed as much as possible! Most of the track are produced on computer with many many virtual tools and hardware controllers. and also some weird tea my human girlfriend brings...but I think this is bullshit, sidechain is the key!

us: If you could work on producing or perform with any other artist in the world, who would it be and why?
bb: mmmhhh that's a hard one!
I would choose MCs because it's what I have been looking for for years. I would say Michael Jackson, Puto Prata & Gigi Barocco at the keyboard for an intergalactic tour & a record sponsored by the Big Snoop Dogg!

us: We haven't yet heard any collaborations, but we have heard rumours that you may have some in the pipelines with Stereroheroes and the Disco Villains. Any confirmation or more information on this?
bb: ahaha of course! Fab from StereoHeroes is a friend. We have produced tracks together and planned to release them especially one called "watch dis". Disco Villains are making a remix for my next EP. They are in Europe right now to check up our new oil pipeline in east Europe. We hope we will meet in Paris next week ;)

us: Have you got any tours coming up, or exciting upcoming gigs?
bb: If everything takes place as planned there will be an European tour in october. Before that I've got a party in Avignon with Antipop Consortium which is really cool!!!

us: If the rest of the world can't yet see you, maybe they can hear you! What are you working on at the moment?
bb: AS I said we are working on "Westhood EP" with my mate Don Nola. Things are doing good as you can see with "DeathBurger"!
I also work with my remixers; "Hey guys if you are there, you have to respect the DEADLINE!!!! I won't give up!!!"

us: What to you enjoy doing when you aren't producing or performing? Any hobbies or anything similar?
bb: I am taking mechanic lessons to repair my spaceship & I have discovered fishing last week. It was cool. But my only obsession is to get enough cash to fly away et get back to my planet.

us: We take it you like to party! Any crazy or embarassing stories from any parties you've been to or performed at?
bb: Few months ago a friend of mine ask me to come & play at "his" party. Okay! I picked up friends and drove to the party.
We arrived to the location and discovered that it was a hardtechno hardcore free party. My friend looked as if he was waiting for me so to install my laptop and begin to play. I realized that there were only guys and they were all staring at me as if I was a bad motherfucker. So I continued my dj set. Nobody danced and I started to feel the tension growing. I finally set the tempo at 170 bpm and a wasted girl began to dance...

us: What does the remainder of 2009 hold in store for Baxter Beez? And anything yet lined up for 2010?
bb: Check out my remix of Division Kent 's "No Kryptonite" which will be released May the 29th (if then rec./sony music) & my remix of Tambour Battant's "Get to fuck up"!!!! And of course the forthcoming EPs!
For 2010, I plan my worldwilde charts domination so prepare your ears.

i'm not going to say any more and just let their interview and music speak for them.

us: Dublin is known perhaps most for Guinness, Bram Stoker and being the set of many of the works of James Joyce, but not so much for it's music scene. What's it like over there?
schizofonics: It's a bit shit to be honest! I don't know if you know but all the clubs over here close at like 3am so you're just getting going when the lights come on and it's time to go home. We make the most of what we've got though and it is getting a lot better. Some great club nights going on over here, in the past few weeks Dublin's hosted Bloody Beetroots, Disco Villains, Annie Mac & Sinden, MSTRKRFT. I'm resident at a club called Twisted Pepper and we've had some quality acts down recently too; Fake Blood, D.I.M. Modeselektor Shy FX, Martelo... It just means you've gotta go out a bit earlier if you wanna get proper drunk ;)

us: We haven't heard a great many DJs or producers from Dublin or Ireland as a whole. Any ideas why this might be?
schizofonics: I think it's all about to change. With the whole internet and file sharing biz it's easier for people like us to get out of our city and get our music heard. Detboi was one of the biggest names last year, just done an Australian tour and is about to drop his EP on Hervé's Cheap Thrills label, it's a bit mad like, he's from down the road!!!

us: But we are definitely glad that we have heard you two! Your sound is brilliant and you have some very impressive remixes under your belt. What kind of feedback have you heard so far?
schizofonics: All positive so far. I mean we've only really sent our stuff out to a few blogs and a few mates and we're starting to get a lot more people hitting us up on the Soundclound and the website. As i said before, it's a lot easier to get your music heard these days, the only real downside to that is everybody and their mum is making tunes so you really have to work hard to stand out.

us: Do you have any more remixes in the pipelines at the moment?
schizofonics: Yeah we've got a few in the pipeline, we're keeping quiet about them though until they're done. We've got a few AV shows lined too up so we're working hard making videos and getting that set tighter.

us: How about more original material? Break free was very well received internationally and we're looking forward to hearing more of your work!
schizofonics: Yep, we're currently working with a French vocalist called Musubi on our new track. She's done the vocals for the first tune from Make The Girls Dance, that song is already getting some major hits, it went up last week on YouTube and has like 50,000 hits or something silly like that. It's a great tune and she's a very talented vocalist so we're very excited to get this one sorted.

us: Is there any chance that the unwitting public may be exposed to an EP from you before too long?
schizofonics: We haven't really thought about it to be honest! It would be great if we could but don't think we're anywhere near that level yet. I think once we get our stuff sorted properly, get a few more original tracks done then we'll see about approaching labels and trying to get something done. We're just having fun at the mo' haven't expected anything like the level of exposure we've had so hopefully it will continue.

us: Or maybe a tour? We see you've got gigs lined up around Ireland and one in London. What about the rest of the world?
schizofonics: Yeah that's the AV set we're doing. It's not a tour as such, just a collection of gigs in a row!!! It's a bit different to what most people are doing, we DJ with like DVDs rather than CDs, it's a bit hard to explain but I suppose the biggest likeness I can draw to would be DJ Yoda. us: As we've seen from the songs you've got out at the moment, your sound is pretty diverse, with remixes of artists ranging from Queen to datA. What are your main musical influences?
schizofonics: We've a fairly eclectic musical taste. Started off playing Hip-Hop and DnB 12 years ago on a pirate station in Dublin. You'll find everything on our iPods from Common to Chromeo, we're huge fans of French music though, Yelle, Soko, Camille all those and we listen to a lot of UK stuff too, BokBok, Dizzee, Caspa... Plus my girlfriend's from London so I'm being re-educated on the whole UKG thing.

us: How do you get inspiration for each of your new tracks and remixes?
schizofonics: I tend to suggest songs for remix, Paul looks after the original stuff. With the Queen track, I had the thought that it'd be a good idea to drop Bohemian Rhapsody in the middle of the video set, out of nowhere like, it's an epic tune and like the first music video ever so we thought it'd be cool to do our own little remix of it. We didn't really intend for it to get blogged or anything but we had some great reactions to it so thought 'Why not'.

us: What setup do you use when producing these?
schizofonics: We have a good partnership going on. Paul's the production whizz, knows his way around Ableton and Protools like no-one I know! The way we work is we'll sit down with an idea, figure out what way we want the song to sound and put down the groundwork, basic beat, bassline etc, Paul will work the magic and get it sounding proper then we'll sit down together again and just tweak it if there's bits we're not happy with. If you take the likes of 'Break Free', we've got about 7 different versions of that track each one slightly different to the last but the first draft of it is nowhere near what we ended up with.

us: And what do you two tend to do when you aren't producing or performing?
schizofonics: I sit on my ass all day ha ha ha... Nah I write for a website and we've been putting a lot of work into this video set we're doing.

us: Any crazy or embarrassing party stories?
schizofonics: Nothing really crazy, few embarrassing one though, I once tripped up over my headphones on stage and fell on my face on front of about 600 people. Made the record skip and everyone looked up to see me getting up off the ground.

us: Dublin being the home of Guinness, some may think you'd either love it or hate it. Is it your drink of choice or do either of you prefer another inebriate?
schizofonics: Hate the stuff, it's like drinking a meal and it makes you shit black! I'm happy with a beer or a bottle of red wine if I'm feeling pretentious.

us: If you could perform or produce with any other artist in the world, who would it be and why?
schizofonics: For me definitely Chromeo, I love them. They've got the perfect mix of 80s cool and vocoders, what more could you want? Plus their keyboards have lady legs!

us: And who'd you most like to party with?
schizofonics: Hmmmmmmm like musicians? Probably Mehdi, seems like a really nice bloke, nothing too crazy coz I'm getting old like! I reckon he'd be well up for wrecking it but just as long as you end up back in your own bed at a reasonable hour. I'm all about that these days.

and for the final update of the day, we have here another exclusive interview, but this time with belgian producer gtronic. before we let you read the interview, we'd just like to say that his work is absolutely incredible. were jack beats and boys noize to spawn a bastard lovechild that locked itself inside a dark and dingy room to produce its glorious music, then it'd probably sound a little like this, just not quite as tight and sharp.

us: GTRONIC! Would you care to introduce yourself for our readers?
gtronic: Well, I'm a 23years old guy from Antwerp, Belgium.
I started producing electro beats in the summer of 2007.
Built my own music studio in the garage.

us: You have definitely been busy recently! We hear you have only really been producing since 2007. How did you get into it?
gtronic: I'm DJ'ing since 2005. After 1,5 year, I got tired of it.
I wanted to try some new things, so I started experimenting with Cubase, Reason, Fruityloops etc.

us: What was the scene like around where you grew up, and how do you think it influenced you?
gtronic: My father plays the guitar. So I grewed up with Blues, Rock 'n Roll, ..
I learned to listen very attentive to music tracks, to perceive all the different sounds and instruments.
I have also played the guitar for many years. I always loved distortion.
Listened to music as Nirvana, The Offspring, Limp Bizkit, Muse, Coldplay, ...
All these things influenced, in a certain way, my approach to music these days..
I discovered the electro scene in +/- 2004 I think.

us: Your sound is extremely bass-centred and heavy, and we love it! How have you developed it since you began in 2007?
gtronic: My main goal is to create my own sound.
I try to develope my sound each time I create a new track.
So each time, I try to explore some synth stuff and distortion settings.
Looking for the perfect 'gtronic' sound, hehe

us: You have remixed some big names in the scene, like The Bloody Beetroots and The Chemical Brothers. What has your feedback been like for such work?
gtronic: I really hope people're feeling my sound/vision at certain remixed tracks.
It's hard to create a remix, without raping the original track.
I'm pretty satisfied with my remixes for Fake blood, Foamo, Heads We Dance and The Bloody Beetroots.

us: Can we expect any new remixes from you in the near future?
gtronic: I hope so! It's a hard to get some good remix packs or samples from big artists.

us: What about more original mixes, or perhaps an EP? We love your current material!
gtronic: Thanks man! Well, I'm getting a big promo soon.
But I won't tell you further details, you'll need to wait for July ;)

us: Can you see yourself touring the rest of Europe or other parts of the world within the next year or two?
gtronic: Every night in my bed, I'm dreaming of huge clubs and seeing many different countries hehe.
No stress, I'm just a small beginning producer/artist.
First I want to develop my sound more. Then we'll see. Just going with the flow.

us: What, so far, has been your favourite gig and why?
gtronic: I think it was my first gig in London. Just playing abroad, is exciting..
It was a really nice party. People went crazy on Iron man.
I slept at the Crown Plaza hotel afterwards. Just like a big artist hehe.

us: Could you describe your dream gig? ie. lineup, venue, location, etc.
gtronic: a big party for my birthday with Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKFT, Hostage and GTRONIC offcourse hehe

us: What can we expect to see from you in the rest of 2009 and in 2010?
gtronic: I hope I keep developing my sound. I'm happy if I keep making progress.
That's all what matters for me. Maybe working for/with some other great artists would be nice...

us: Oh, and we cannot let you leave without asking this question; what is your drink of choice?
gtronic: SODA-WATER !! I can't live without it héhé ;)

for the second update of the day, we have the follow up to a post i made last week entitled pristine brazilian talent, in which we introduced pristine blusters and shared a few tracks they sent us. this post contains another two tracks of theirs and an interview. having made you wait longer than i originally promised, i won't make you wait any more:

us: Pristine Blusters! It's great to have you here on wecandyflip. So you are a DJing and producing trio from Brazil - what's the scene like over there?
Alexandre Favilla: This kind of music is getting popular here so we have now some good djs. The Twelves is a amazing influence for example...
Victor Arlé: Scene here is growing faster. New parties, new DJ's, new producers coming up. Twelves from Rio, Database hailling from São Paolo... Everybody wants to make some noise...

us: Would you mind telling us a little about yourselves? Like how you all got into electronic music, how you met, etc.
Alexandre Favilla: Well, I always liked electronic stuffs. I have a band called Quadrante and when I was searching inspiration for the mix, Justice came out. It was great cuz it was in the same time I was listening Daft Punk, Carpark North... So I started to make some noise to experiment...
Carlos Nuñez: I'm djing since my 14 years old (I've 28 now...) and I've met Victor and Favilla by the Internet.
Victor Arlé: Since I was nine electronic music is in my life. So when I was 15 I learned DJing, then started by myself to produce music... I met Carlos in an online forum about a program that we use to mix. We started to do remixes one year ago at least. It was just for fun... Now we schedule our mix priorites and releases. We're still having fun, of course, but now we have goals.

us: You seem to have pretty varied influences that produce a unique style. Who, would you say, are your greatest influences?
Alexandre Favilla: For me its Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Freak Kitchen. Haha. Fun, but it's true...
Carlos Nuñez: My influences are something between Beatles and Daft Punk. It's easy to define, isn't it?
Victor Arlé: Kraftwerk, Moroder, Aphex Twin and Brian Eno. David Bowie also is a great influence to me in his album Outside.

us: Your releases so far have been, to say the least, eclectic. Your first minimix crams parts of over 30 tracks into just over 5 minutes! How do you tend to get your inspiration for your work?
Carlos Nuñez: It's simple: listening every sound around us. The modern life is this: everything-at-the-same-time-now.
Victor Arlé: Silence is the answer cuz It's essential to me. I can't produce without some periods of silence. Then I hear to some classical music to chill out. It's my preparation to rock.

us: What's it like attempting to produce material with the three of you? I can imagine there are disagreements at times.
Alexandre Favilla: Well, sometimes I want to kill Victor. But this is because he is always right! I've learned a lot with those guys...
Victor Arlé: Normally there's no serious disagreement. Just small details in the process of mixing and mastering. When we decide to do a remix/music, our ideas tend to be very similar.

us: What setup do you use for your new productions and remixes?
Alexandre Favilla: I used to do anything on Cubase, but nowadays i'm using Ableton in a Macbook with a Ozonic controller.
Victor Arlé: Currently I use Acid Pro, Reason and an old Yamaha PSS 680 as MIDI controller.

us: We've been incredibly impressed with what we've heard so far - what can we expect from you in the future?
Alexandre Favilla: Money! Kidding... I guess that soon we'll have our own release. We are working on it...
Carlos Nuñez: I want to have sex with Penelope Cruz in the near future.
Victor Arlé: We are now working on some remixes and finalizing our own track that should be launched next month.

us: You've remixed songs from some pretty big artists - Justice and Uffie being the two most prominent - have you been contacted for any official remix work?
Alexandre Favilla: Not yet... But Uffie can call me anytime!
Victor Arlé: No, I contacted Ed Banger requesting authorization for Justice's remix... But they say: "Do it unnoficial".

us: If you could work or play with any other DJ or producer at the moment, who do you think it would be and why?
Alexandre Favilla: Kanye West for SURE! I love his songs.
Carlos Nuñez: This is my personal answer: I want to work with The Prodigy... Because, they're THE PRODIGY.
Victor Arlé: Mr. Oizo cuz he's an open minded producer and mix with uncommon sound sources. It's awesome!

us: This would, of course, involve travelling. Have you got any plans for touring or gigging at the moment?
Victor Arlé: Travelling envolves money, wich is complicated. We'll hang around here for now and see what comes up.

us: Can we expect to see Pristine Blusters heading over to Europe or America in the near future, do you think?
Carlos Nuñez: Is it an invite??? I like it.
Victor Arlé: It would be a pleasure to play outside the country. Is definitely in our plans to do an international tour since the kind of music we play is growing bigger in Europe and America

us: Even if you haven't yet, your music has travelled all over the world. I can imagine you listen to artists from all around the globe as well. Who are your current favourite artists or producers?
Alexandre Favilla: I'm listening a lot a swedish band called A.C.T. Crazy songs.
Carlos Nuñez: The Prodigy, Diplo and Crookers.
Victor Arlé: Cryptonites from Switzerland, Buraka Som Sistema from Portugal, Fomite from Venezuela...

us: And what are each of your top five favourite tracks?
Alexandre Favilla: Daft Punk - High Life, Justice - Newjack, Sebastian - Dog, Carpark North - Save Me From My Self and Kanye West - Champion.

us: If you don't yet have any crazy stories from gigging or travelling too much, are there any from partying that you'd like to share with us?
Victor Arlé: Actually, the first time I saw Carlos was in a club in São Paulo. When I saw him comming I pictured a colorfull giraffe coming towards me! I'm tall, but he's a giant!

us: Who, out of the three of you, would you say is the biggest party animal?
Alexandre Favilla: I am pretty sure that we all like parties A LOT!
Carlos Nuñez: Favilla is the party-boy. He's a go go boy.
Victor Arlé: We like to party, but we're saints.

us: What are your drinks of choice when you're all out?
Alexandre Favilla: TEQUILA!
Carlos Nuñez: I don't drink, because I'm the driver...
Victor Arlé: Caipirinha, a brazilian drink with vodka, green lemon and ice.

as promised, he is the first of the catch up material that we've got for you. to start it off, we have an interview with edu k, dj and producer from brazil. i think i'll leave the man to introduce himself, as he does it much better than i could.

us: Edu K, it's a pleasure to have you here. Could you please introduce yourself for our readers?
edu k: Well, I’m a vodka cranberry lovin’ DJ/producer from Brasil, hehe, n’ I started my international career on a Baile Funk tip with releases on Berlin’s own Man Recordings around 2005. Laters I fell in love with the whole fidget house thing n’ changed my sound completely around 2 and a half years ago. Right now I’m goin’ thru another huge change n’ now my heart belongs 2 this brand nu (n’ lovely) mix of minimal tech house with bangin’ afro-brasilian drums pioneered by Zombie Disco Squad n’ Radioclit back in the day n’ championed by the likes of Minimow, Solo and The Renaissance Man more recently! Besides that, I love Japanese food, videogame, toys, movies, comic-books n’ girls – not necessarily in that order, haha!

us: Your latest sound is a slight departure form the normal we have here at wecandyflip, but there are still elements of house and electro within. How did your sound come about?
edu k: Well, it’s still house music in its core indeed! As for how did I come around this new sound it’s like, I’m the kind of dude that really follows passion n’, this time around I got hit in the head hard by a Teki Latex DJ set I saw in Sydney n’ it really blew my mind big fuckin’ time! It was like a revelation! I knew right away that that was the sound I wanted 4 me! Teki is like a prophet n’ Sound Pellegrino makes me happy 2 be here in this moment in history, beein’ part of it all! It’s like if you were around the 1st time Elvis appeared on TV! Hahaha! But, also, this whole nu sound n’ style is like a reaction 2 the recent electro ‘n fidget thing – I think it’s like a hard noisy sounds hangover, y’know what I mean?

us: What is the music scene like around your area?
edu k: It’s pretty kool n’ we have lots of bangin’ DJs/producers like Chernobyl, Killer On The Dancefloor, Database, Schutz and many more. Things in Brasilian club scene develop a lil’ slower I guess so, right now peeps are doin’ the crossover from electro/ electro rock 2 fidget n’ those kinds of sounds but, there’s also a big FM techno n’ a psy-trance scene as well! N’ a huge rock scene in evry city u go!

us: Do you think this had a big influence on your sound?
edu k: Well, mostly my influence comes from abroad – from Europe n’ the States, the great house music meccas. I’m always connect with what’s goin’ on around me all over the world n’ that pretty much is what feeds my sound! But it’s kool that, with the kind of stuff I’m doin’ now, I’m comin’ back a lil’ 2 my homeland traditional music with the Brasilian drums n’ percussion n’ the native samba sound! That’s pretty excitin’!

us: What are your main musical influences?
edu k: Nowadays it would be The Renaissance Man, Zombie Disco Squad, Solo, Riva Starr, Noise Floor Crew, Wongo, Mom& Dad, Harvard Bass, Momma’s Boy, Femme En Fourrure, Afrojack, Worthy & Yankee Zulu, Funkin’ Matt, Tom Flynn, Donk Boys, Oliver $ - well, it goes on n’ on, hehe! In therms of labels, Sound Pellegrino - of course, Dirtybird, Made To Play, Man Recordings, Tartelet, Anabatic Records and Deadfish.

us: You have a great many remixes to your name, but we've haven't seen a great many original tracks. Your remix work is clearly loved! Are there any tracks you're currently mixing things up with?
edu k: Hahah, yes, plenty of stuff, actually! I’m workin’ on remixes 4 Missill, Mary Velo, Queen Bitchez, Yolanda Be Cool, Superpose, MC Gaff E, Two Fresh n’ many many more – I hardly get time 2 breath, haha! N’ maybe this is why you don’t see a lot of Edu K originals released, haha! It’s like, one day I asked Man Recordings’ CEODaniel Haaksman (who introduced me 2 the likes of Switch & the Crookers) why guys like Switch, for example, release a great many remixes but not that many originals n’, well, now I think I know why, hehe! There’s so much remix work 2 do that u hardly find time 2 do your own shit! N’ it’s sooo much fun 2 remix other peeps trax! N’ it’s also really easier n’ lots more quick 2 get yer stuff out there n’ get releases comin’ up all the time – just check my Beatport page! The thing is, when you sign a track sometimes it can take up to 3 or 4 months before it finally comes out n’ now with the whole digital label revolution the coolest thing is that you can finish a track n’ like, next week it can be out there in the streets! Lee Mortimer is doin’ that with Fresh Attire, the new imprint from his label Wearhouse Music which is gonna like, release Monday tunes that were finished like Friday, pushin’ the possibilities of this digital era 2 the max! More power 2 Mr. Mortimer!

us: And are you working on any more original productions? We'd love to see an Edu K EP before too long!
edu k: Yes, there’s a big fat chance we will be seein’ a whole batch of K EPs very soon since I’m workin’ on a hot pile of new originals – in fact, you’re all gonna have a chance 2 have a listen 2 some of these here in this mix I did 4 u!

us: Since you have done so many remixes, you must be a sought after producer. How about DJ - do you have any gigs or tours lined up at the moment?
edu k: Well, I toured the world already like 5 times, with gigs all over, from Tel Aviv to Sydney, from Montreal to Berlin, from New York to Paris n’ so on! Next comes my 2009 European tour, probably next August / September! I’ll keep you posted!

us: We'd love to see you in the UK and I'm sure others would worldwide. Have you got any plans to visit other areas of the world?
edu k: Yes, like I said above, there’s a good chance I’ll be back in the UK in a couple of months – I’m crossing my fingers since I luuuuv yer country n ‘it means sooo much culturally!

us: How do you like to spend your free time?
edu k: What free time? Hahaha, just (half) kiddin’! Heheh! Well, I luv playin’ videogames, readin’ comic books n’ books n’ watchin’ movies. N’ I spend a lotta time in the internet ( Twittin’ my ass off mostly, haha – check me out : edukeduk)! But I go out clubbin’ a lot 2, hehe! N ‘there’s also time 2 make out with my ex-GF, hehe! Guess we still <3 style="font-weight: bold;">us: We take it you like to party! And we've heard that there are quite a few parties in and around Brazil. Any crazy stories from any that you can remember?
edu k: Mmmm…it’s like they say: if you remember anything you probably weren’t there! Hahahaah! But, yeah, latin peeps luuuv 2 party haaard fo’ sho’! Hehe!

us: What is your cocktail or drink of choice?
edu k: Vodka Sunrise: Vodka + Pineapple n’ Cranberry juice!

us: If you could party with anyone in the world, who would you most like it to be, and why? And if you could perform or produce with any other artists, who and why?
edu k: Mmmm…Jack Black – he’s sooo fuckin’ kool n’ fun! N’ Noel Fielding – I fuckin’ luv the Mighty Boosh!!! But, DJwise I’d luv 2 go on a world tour with Renaissance Man, Femme En Fourrure, Zombie Disco Squad, Wongo, Mom&Dad n’ Solo! Yay! That would be TONS of fun!

us: When you are working on new material, what setup do you use?
edu k: A pretty simple one: Reason runnin’ thru a PC, an M-Audio midi-controler n’ a pair of M-Audio pro monitors.

the classic line before something horrible comes out. and i'm sure you've all heard it far too many times before. i truly am sorry that i've not updated the blog once more, but again it was the issue of not waking up at home and having no internet access. the but is that i did get a few amusing photos to make up for it, and i'll be adding a few new posts to the blog today in an attempt to catch up with where i should be. the emails i haven't replied to, i will, just still in time. i'm pretty slow as it is, and i've currently got quite a backlog of them now.

anyway, first comes the pissing mexican:

which is the result of a fancy dress party and a little too much tequila. it doesn't do good things to me.

the next is the result of an idea me and a few friends had, for a "gentleman's" night in. for this, we did as gentlemen do; and searched out fine cigars and whiskey, set a dress code of shirts and ties and cracked the poker out. whiskey doesn't do me too good either. i'll get a picture up for you to laugh at when my friend sorts his camera out.

and there it is, my finishing the last bit of a fine cuban we managed to pick up, after driving round for about three hours to find somewhere that sold decent cigars on a sunday night.

but on the plus side, whilst i try to reply to all the messages on myspace and in my inbox (which i will do - eventually!), i'll let you know that by the end of the day you'll have some new material and an interview from pristine blusters, an exclusive minimix and interview with edu k and some new tracks and an interview from gtronic. and then coming up over the next few days, we have an exclusive new track from sxndrgs and we'll be interviewing them, nick public has agreed to do an interview and send us some material, we've got an interview and tracks from megatron, cepi has sent us a load of his stuff and wants to be interviewed as well, and we have an inbox full of unread emails. oh, and goose have promised to send us some new material when it's ready, and showed interest in an interview at the same time.

first off, apologies for failing to update the blog yesterday. i was out for a friend's birthday and was in no state to type when i got back. the not waking up at home made things a little confusing this morning as well.

however, to make up for it, today we have an exclusive interview with mustard pimp, the french duo who have been pumping out incredible originals, remixes and mixtapes for months. i don't think they really need an introduction, but if you haven't yet heard their immense sound, give their name a quick google and you'll soon see why. now, without any further ado:

us: You have an incredibly impressive discography listed on your Myspace page, with remixes of artists such as the Crookers, Stereoheroes and A1 Bassline, on top of numerous original tracks! What are you two currently working on, and what can we expect to see from you in the near future?
mp: Yo! wow ,actually not so impressive but glad to hear it!,anyway actually we're working on some remixes for Steed Lord,Missill etc and we'll probably lock us up during summer in studio to work on some original tracks and remixes to starts September with loads of news.

us: I can see you are incredibly busy at the moment, with several upcoming works and gigs across France and Belgium. Have you got any plans for taking a tour of Europe or visiting other parts of the world?
mp: Yeah sure,we're making a big European tour from October To November,then we make our first Australian tour in Decembre,for North America nothing cofirmed so far but we're workin on it to come this year.

us: What has, so far, been your favourite gig and why?
mp: Hmmm probably Milan,people were fuckin crazy down there during this gig,intense from begginin to the end,but we also get some great gigs in Vienna,Warsaw etc were very cool too!!

us: Have you got any crazy stories from travelling, gigging or partying?
mp: Except flight delays,head akes each mornings or strange food nothing so mad for the moment!

us: You both seem like your main aim is to have fun, and you sound kind of the party animal types. Has this ever landed you in trouble?
mp: haha no,we're jumping everywhere during gigs but outside stage we're pretty calm,only troubles we had is when we played in clubs (especially in France) who people don't even listen to this same kind of music,so yeah after 30min of set it starts to be really hard haha

us: What is your intoxicant of choice when you're out partying?
mp: Blowjobs before (or while) playin probably

us: Do either of you ever really drink whilst you're performing?
mp: Yeah,Whisky to be precise,anyway we avoid to drink a lot if we perform the day after.

us: Your productions and remixes are very tight and you have some really nice mastering on your tracks. What is your setup for producing all your originals and remixes?
mp: A computer,a crashing Cubase, an Maudio Keyboard never plugged and an home made mastering without Hardware,and the most important pistaches and drinkin for producing.

us: From the sound of some of your latest tracks, particularly Gold!, it appears that you both have a wide range of musical influences. Who would you say have been your main influences?
mp: Black Metal,Death Metal,Thrash Metal,Rock and most of all Eurodance

us: Who are your current favourite producers?
mp: Shinichi Osawa, Chewy Chocolate Cookies, Sticky K, Phatzoo, Hot Pink Delorean ,list can be long !

us: Which leads me on to the next question; what are each of your top 5 favourite tracks at the moment?

mp: Sticky K and Hot Pink Delorean,they rocks, and probably 2 Unlimited,Basshunter and Paul Elstak coz they are our idols haha

us: What does the rest of 2009 and 2010 have in store for Mustard Pimp?
mp: Unless we die in a plane crash,i guess lots of remixs,mixtapes and probably one or two new EP after September,can't really tell right now!

us: Mustard Pimp. Another of the more unusual names I've come across, but I love it! How did you come up with it?
mp: wow,that's quite actually impossible to explain in english,this is a kind of word play beetween makerels and mustard,coz in France makerel means also pimp,so......!

us: And how did the two of you originally meet?
mp: Actually we were former members of a club nearly everywhere in France for people who loves to hunt only with a Knife,so we met randomly in woods and eKa was hitten by a deer,and on our way to the Hostpital we talked about our love for Death Metal,then we decided two month after to create Mustard Pimp.

us: What led to you deciding to produce and DJ together?
mp: Obviously ,Death Metal and Knife Hunting

us: How sick of these questions are you now getting?
mp: Not enough to eat Polish Sausage Soup

and they were kind enough to send us a couple of tracks to post up with this interview. the first is their take on will smith's fresh prince of bel-air theme, turning it into an electro monster. it's had the vocals edited, a raging bassline added and now has some insanely infectious synths. i can really describe it, so i'd suggest just giving a listen to see what i mean.

we also have the mustard pimp remix of the classic ace of spades, by motörhead. again, it has been transformed into an electronic masterpiece. it has a very catchy tune and is a big departure from the original.

of course, it is not just remixes that these two should be thanked for; their original mixes are equally as exciting. the next track, valium, is one of my favourite tracks of all time. i know if i say anything else about it then i won't be able to do it justice, so just enjoy.

this final track is entitled gold! and is just that. is starts with an almost sinister piano, strings and bells, but slowly builds up to an absolute banger. with pounding kicks throughout the majority and heavy, distorted, squealing synth sounds, it's hard not to love the track.

jack beat my mp3 player

well today i found out my mp3 player will no longer turn on. a real shame, as i'm a poor student and am really going to struggle to fork out another £100 or whatever it costs for a new one. and i have no idea what caused it, except perhaps the immense bass of jack beats, songs from whom were the last to be listened do on the now deceased device.

the duo is made up of plus one (of the scratch perverts) and beni g. based in the uk, they have numerous remixes to their name and a couple of banging originals. what may have caused the demise of my beloved mp3 player is the last track i put on there, jack beats' remix of project bassline's drop the pressure. the song features an almost spine-tingling synth throughout the majority and has more kick than most mules. if you haven't already heard the song, then give it a listen below and then download it in full 320kbps quality.

norwegian goodness

on top of breathtaking fjords, mountains and the aurora borealis, norway now has another spectacle, taking shape in the form of illstm, a french-born electro house producer now residing in oslo.

his music is something to behold, crafted with extreme care and blurring the lines between genres with elements of many pulled in for each track. his latest - all classy for me - is a prime example of this. a funky beat is accompanied by a sound not too distant from that of a boiling kettle, and vocals provided by hanny. he has also remixed mustard pimp (with whom we have an interview coming soon, so keep an eye out!) and stereoheroes, adding his unique touch to the tracks rer d and washout respectively.

well today we have some exciting stuff; ben from we are terrorists emailed us the band's answers to a few questions we sent then and an exclusive video! when you hear some of the material this band have put out you will understand why we were quite as excited as we were. for one, it is loud. very loud. just look at the logo the band use:

even their logo is loud! but that's enough from me for now. i'm just going to let them speak for themselves.

us: We Are Terrorists. A pretty provocative name! How did you come up with it?
Ben: First I have to declare that it is nico's idea ! My idea was to name our band we are tourists !
Greg: German tourists of course !
Nico: yes it is an heavy name but it helps people to stick a name on our band and sound and a way to move the media
Jas: Maybe people more call us WAT than We are terrorists since some months . Shorter is better !
Ben: And is faster and stronger !!

us: Would you mind telling us a bit about yourselves?
Ben: We are 4 ! We are fun ! We are nice ! We are terrorists !
Nico: I'm the main composer and the drumer on stage !
Jas: I'm the only leader , and singer on stage
Greg: I'm the guitarist on stage and the leader of the band .

us: How did you meet and ultimately decide to DJ and produce together?
Greg: Nico ben and me had a band before wich was a disco pop band . Then Nico and ben were driven really angry because of their women's mood and decided to create A strong rude electro rock band!
jas: They ask me to write lyrics and sing on thir non french productions so here I am !
Ben: We never be dj's by the way , but we decided to propose some djsets after our shows in order to keep the crowd up for more than 1 hour !

us: Your sound is designed to be played incredibly loud and fuses elements of electro and rock seamlessly. What, would you say, are the largest influences on your style?
Ben: We think people like lcd sound system , goose are the people we like
jas: soulwax and cosmo vitelli sometimes
greg: I'm the funky man of the band , so I bring some jamiroquai or other vibes into WAT.

us: With your sound being so unique, what are your musical backgrounds?
Nico: I'm a self made musician just like ben and jas
jas: Greg is the only true good player of the band
Ben: I think we are really use to sound design cause of our past projects , and sound texture is really important for us
nico: jas is a good hook searcher for vocals

us: The masks! Different to any others we've seen. What do they represent?
Nico: At the begining masks where usefull cause our first video was a sort of stupid strike on towers . mask where there to draw the line we wanted .
Ben: We decided to pull away from it cause to many guys especially here in france were using it . ..

us: We've seen that you've played around France and have appeared on various television programmes. Are we likely to see We Are Terrorists around the rest of Europe or perhaps America or Asia anytime soon?
Ben: I think USA is nearly ready to see us for a month tour .
Nico: We'd really to come in japan or australia so promoters - wake the fuck up !!

us: If so, ideally, who would it be your dream to gig with?
Nico: Radiohead
jas: queen
greg: Paris hilton
Ben: Claude francois

us: If you could work with any other producer, who would it be and why?
Ben: I'd love to work with big brothers we love like mirwais or lu comt .
Nico: Or kenny west to help him improving his level !
jas: Madonna should be our warm up on stage not ?

us: You have quite a few EPs out already and have worked on a number of remixes. Is there anything new coming from We Are Terrorists in the near future?
jas: An ep in place blanche record (french label)
Nico: An ep at motivo in italy
ben: An ep in usa (negotiating it at the moment )

us: Your sound is rather complex and blends many different elements. What is your setup for producing and remixing?
Greg: Guitar only !
Nico: drum groove box , analogic synth , any hardware distorsion we hurt !
jas: And a mic !

us: What is the balance like between the inputs from the four of you? Or how do you all end up agreeing on what something should sound like?
Jas: I think nico and ben are starting most of the tracks but we all have to agree all elements to continue any tracks

us: You seem like your main aim is to have fun. Would any of you describe yourselves as party animals?
nico: We act like we are ! that's why it such a mess on stage everytime !
jas: A fucking fucking mess
ben: I'm the soldier of the band , always trying to organise everything with those mads !

us: Have you got any crazy stories from partying or gigging?
Ben: MAybe in neuchatel , we were playing hard and hard ! And the sound system was so boosted that it swiched some speakers off at any second ! Was really mad cause we play all live songs with speakers right then left then no feedback .

us: What is your cocktail or drink of choice when you're both out?
ben: vodka redbull
nico: beer
greg: beer vodka rebull
jas: anything !

us: Do any of you drink whilst you're performing live?
jas: on stage water for me cause I sing !
ben: on stage water cause jas sing !
nico: on stage wood cause I eat my sticks !

chewy chocolate cookies - who doesn't like them? this guy from the uk is no exception. with his biography being a recipe for making such cookies and the band members the ingredients, chewy chocolate cookies is an eccentric individual and with countless remixes and two eps, pepites and apocalypse, already under his belt, he's also an incredibly prolific producer.

we received his latest remix in out inbox yesterday morning and were not disappointed. the original song, blood by nyc outfit drlkt freddie, has been taken and given the 'classic' cookies work over, with a melodic piano based introduction leading on to the roaring synths and booming kicks. with build ups and break downs interspersed throughout the song, there's plenty to keep you dancing.

pristine brazilian talent

for our first main post, we have some fresh content from brazilian trio pristine blusters, made up of carlos nuñez from sao paulo and victor arle and alexandre favilla from rio de janeiro. their sound is pretty unique, as are their influences, ranging from classic rock to kraftwerk to daft punk.

we have for you three remixes by this brazilian outfit today, all of which have varied styles. the first is a 'big bang!' edit of justice's let there be light, which takes the original and makes it a little heavier as well as mixing things up a bit. there's also a pretty funky version of positif by mr. oizo, followed by pristine blusters' 'dirty bitch' take on mc gi's quer romance.

a quick update

this is just a quick addition to the post below, as we've heard back from a few more artists and have quite a bit more material lined up for the next couple of weeks.

first off, drlkt freddie have sent us their latest productions and a few of their remixes, a couple of which will be posted soon. we will also have an interview with the nyc based duo for you.

blatta & inesha emailed us earlier today as well, with promise of brand spanking new tracks and another exclusive interview with wecandyflip. we'll be adding both to the blog in the coming weeks.

we've also been in contact with a producer slightly closer to home; mikrodat, located in the uk. we have again received promise of promotional material in the not too distant future. for now, we have the video for their latest release, entitled hey, which was recently played on bbc's in new music we trust.

what we have in store

right then, wecandyflip will be beginning with a selection of fresh material.

firstly we have a number of original productions and a remix from the french trio vektorkat, who were kind enough to send us their current releases and have agreed to do an interview with wecandyflip in the near future.

next, dylan eiland of le castle vania and lies in disguise sent us a whole load of tracks from both projects. expect to see a few remixes and a couple of originals from each over the next few days.

chewy chocolate cookies has promised us some new material soon, which we'll be adding to blog when it arrives. some of his current stuff will be up here before too long.

we also heard from swedish producer owl vision, and we'll have some of his productions and remixes on wecandyflip at some point within the next week or so.

the mexican duo prepare to meet thy broom! sent us a few tracks, as well as expressing interest in doing an interview with us.

and we will also be posting some brand spanking new material from another swedish producer who goes by the name of henning my friend. hopefully, we'll also be receiving his history and he has offered to answer a few questions for us.

finally, the disco villains have contacted us and have also agreed to give wecandyflip an exclusive interview, if we can catch them whilst on tour. we'll be adding a few of their tracks to our pages as well, hopefully along with a couple of videos.

welcome to wecandyflip.

this is a brand spanking new blog focusing on electronic music. we know it's currently just one of many, but we're hoping to build it up over time in order to produce something much more unique and original that more and more people will want to be a part of.

currently, i am the sole author of this blog. i'm harry, an 18 year old student from the east midlands, uk. i'm sitting my a levels in a week and, provided i get the grades i need, am off to edinburgh the year after next to do a degree in pharmacology. i dj and am producing my own work at the moment, and am an avid fan of electronic music. it's this that encouraged me to start this blog, in order to share music that i love and help promote those who need it.

with the help of others, this blog can hopefully achieve what i hope for it to. thanks for reading and i hope you'll enjoy what will follow.
